My grocery bill dropped $40 a week when I started shopping with a cart, not a basket.
I realized I was grabbing way more impulse snacks just because my hands were full, so I switched to a big cart and stuck to my list. Anyone else notice their spending changes based on something that simple?

My buddy did the same thing and his bill went down a ton. He said the basket just felt like a challenge to fill up.

That basket thing is real though. My problem is I'm too proud to use the little baskets because my wife says I look like I'm about to shoplift a single bag of chips when I carry one around. So I end up with the big cart and suddenly I'm justifying a family sized bag of Doritos because "it fits in the cart" even though I'm just feeding myself. Last week I actually tied my list to my hand with a rubber band so I couldn't forget it and still ended up buying a jar of pickles I didn't even want. The cart is just a psychological trap for me I swear.

It's crazy how the container controls the spending, right? I started using the handheld basket they have near the self-checkout. It's so small I can only fit the milk and bread I actually need.
