Spent $60 on a budgeting app and it backfired hard

I was at my kitchen table last Tuesday night, finally fed up with my spreadsheet falling apart. So I dropped $60 on this fancy app that promised to sync all my accounts. Turns out it double-counted my rent and showed I had $400 extra to spend. I ended up buying pizza and a game before I realized the mistake. Anyone else have a tool make things worse before they helped?

Nah, I gotta push back a little here. $60 is a lot for an app, sure, but sounds like you just didn't check the numbers before acting on them (which, hey, we've all done). I've had budgeting tools mess me up too, but usually it's my fault for trusting them blindly instead of double-checking.

$60 buys a lot of shame, @casey909, but hey, at least we learned it ourselves.
