Swapped my daily coffee shop run for a $20 french press and it paid off in 3 weeks

I used to drop $5.50 every morning at the cafe near my office in Denver, sometimes twice if I needed a pick-me-up. That's like $165 a month just on coffee. Then I started working from home more and bought a basic french press and a bag of beans from the local roaster. I'm down to about $30 a month now and honestly the coffee tastes better too. Has anyone else noticed their savings add up faster than they expected with stuff like this?

huh did you actually track the numbers before and after or are you just ballparking it? because i feel like the real surprise is how fast the little stuff adds up when you actually sit down and look at it. like i did the same thing with my lunch habit, was spending like 12 bucks a day on takeout vs maybe 4 bucks on stuff i brought from home, and it was jarring to see that was like 200 bucks a month down the drain. but the coffee thing specifically, my question is did you factor in the cost of the grinder if you bought one separate, or are you using pre-ground beans? because that can throw the math off a bit if you get into the whole burr grinder rabbit hole

Bet you forgot the water cost too if you're making pour over vs just microwaving it.
