That $20 rice cooker from the thrift store changed my food budget completely
I was dead set against buying a rice cooker because I thought it was just another gadget taking up counter space. But I found a beat-up one for $20 at a thrift store in Nashville last month and now I'm making beans, oatmeal, and even steamed veggies in it almost daily. Has anyone else found a cheap tool that ended up saving way more than it cost?

Wait, how beat up are we talking? Like was the nonstick coating totally gone or just scratched? I keep seeing cheap rice cookers at Value Village but I'm scared to grab one if the pot is wrecked because I don't want to eat Teflon flakes with my rice. Or does it not matter as much for stuff like oatmeal and beans since you're not relying on the nonstick as hard for those?

Yeah bro I grabbed one with some scratches for $8 and now I just use it for steel cut oats, no issues at all @mark676 lol.
