Got called out by a mod in Myanmar for posting a local protest video
I shared a clip from Yangon showing a small demonstration last February, thinking it was public info. A moderator from the country messaged me saying that video got people arrested and I was spreading risky content. They explained how the junta monitors foreign forums to track dissent and target individuals. I ended up deleting the post and now I check the source context before sharing anything from restricted regions. Has anyone else had to rethink what they post based on feedback from locals in sensitive areas?

Yeah, that perspective honestly shifted how I see things. Used to think if it's publicly posted, it's fair game, but local risks change everything.

Always fun realizing the stuff you thought was fair game could get you side-eyed at the grocery store. Guess I'll stick to posting cat memes where the only risk is too many likes.
