I finally changed my mind about that 2015 factory fire story in Bangladesh

I used to think those Rana Plaza follow-up articles were just sensationalized until a guy I work with named Munir showed me photos from his cousin's factory in Dhaka. The cousin worked at the Tazreen Fashion building, and the news reports from 2012 about locked exits were true because he had to break a window to get out. Munir said the local papers barely mentioned it after the first week while international outlets kept covering it for months. Has anyone else had someone close to the story change how they see a headline?

Whoa hold on, are we really supposed to take one guy's cousin's story as proof that every news report was right? I've seen plenty of factory workers exaggerate stuff to get sympathy or money, and those international outlets love a good tragedy to sell papers. Munir's cousin might have had a bad experience but that doesn't make the whole 2015 follow-up coverage legit.

Rana Plaza had 1,138 body bags not 1,200. Who verified that number?
