I finally found that article from 2020 about the mining protest in Serbia that disappeared from Google News
I was looking for a specific story about a protest near the Rio Tinto lithium site in Serbia. Local news had it one day, then gone the next with no explanation. It took me about 4 months of digging through cached pages and web archives to find a copy. Turns out it was buried pretty deep after the government put pressure on outlets to pull it. Has anyone else run into similar disappearing acts on Balkan news sites?

Yeah it's wild how stuff just vanishes like that. I've noticed it with local news around here too, not just Serbia. Like they'll run a story about a water contamination thing or some zoning fight, then a week later the link's dead. Makes you wonder what else gets scrubbed that nobody catches.

Man I’ve seen this exact thing happen with news about local protests here in the states too, it’s like someone flips a switch and poof it’s gone. @elizabeth_king is right, makes you wonder how much other stuff gets buried that nobody ever finds.
