My uncle in Prague told me to ignore a story about a bridge collapse, said it was just rumors.
He's a city planner there and swore the official line was right, that the bridge was fine. I found a local blogger's video two days later showing the cracked support pillars, but her site got taken down. The city finally admitted it a month after that. Why tell people not to look at something unless there's a real problem? Anyone else have a family member give them bad info on a blocked story?

Your uncle probably just didn't want you worrying over nothing yet.

Consider the chaos if every unverified rumor caused a public panic.

But where do you draw the line between an unverified rumor and a legit early warning that gets ignored?
