PSA: That big pipeline protest article in Ecuador vanished from Google News around 3 AM last Tuesday.

I had it saved in my bookmarks and when I clicked it the next morning it was a 404 but the Wayback Machine still had the whole thing from 12 hours earlier, has anyone else noticed specific articles just disappearing like that overseas without any explanation?

Man I used to think people were just being paranoid when they talked about articles disappearing like that but this actually changes my mind. I remember seeing that Ecuador protest coverage and thinking it was just a standard news piece nothing too crazy. Then when it straight up vanished from Google News the next day and went 404 I was like okay that's weird but probably a glitch or something. But then I checked Wayback and sure enough the whole thing was still there from the night before. That was the moment I realized this isn't just glitches or bad luck it's happening enough that it's a real thing. Like if major outlets can just have stuff wiped from search results like that who knows what else we're not seeing.
