Spent a year reading news from just Russian state media for a project. Found out who was really funding the coup in Madagascar.

Worked on a college research thing back in 2019. Cross referenced RT and Sputnik with actual French diplomatic cables leaked online. The Russian version claimed the CIA was behind it all. French cables showed Russian oil money flowing to the rebels instead. Got a cease and desist from a fake NGO when I tried to publish my findings. Deleted the whole project. Learned not to trust anyone's version. Has anyone else hit real blowback from digging into blocked stories?

Man that's rough. I heard a podcast once about a guy who dug into the same Madagascar thing and found the Russian embassy was running a fake news farm out of a hotel there. Whole story just disappeared off the internet after a week. Makes you wonder what else gets scrubbed when big money gets burned.

Well I can barely figure out how to turn my own WiFi back on when it glitches, so it's comforting to know the Russians probably aren't using me for their disinformation campaigns. Guess my tin foil hat is safe for another day.
