TIL my city council quietly buried a water quality report last spring
Spent $35 on a FOIA request after hearing whispers from a retired utility guy. Got back a report showing lead levels in 3 schools that never made the local news. Anybody else dig into their own city's public records like this?

Whoa there, hold on a second. I've seen a lot of people panic over old water tests that turned out to be nothing once the whole picture came out. Lead in schools sounds scary, but half the time these "buried" reports are just routine testing that didn't hit a big trigger for action. Your mileage may vary, but I'd probably check what the actual levels were and see if they even went over the federal action limit before getting too worked up. Could just be a bureaucratic paperwork issue.

Heard a similar story from a friend @taylor305 and it ended up being overblown paperwork too.
