Broke down every task in our fulfillment process, now we ship 2 days faster

We used to just hand orders off between teams and hope for the best. After a slow December I mapped every single step from pick to pack to carrier drop off, found 11 redundant checks that were adding hours. Has anyone else tried a full process audit like this, or is a lighter touch the norm for smaller ops?
