Dropped $400 on a fancy scheduling tool and it actually backfired
I paid for a premium scheduling app for my repair crew last spring, $400 a year for the team plan. Turns out the automated reminders confused half my customers and they started showing up on wrong days. Has anyone else found that cheaper solutions ended up working better for their operation?

My buddy runs a small landscaping crew and he told me he bought some expensive dispatch software that was supposed to schedule jobs automatically. Within two weeks his guys were showing up at houses where nobody was home because the system kept mixing up addresses. He switched back to a paper whiteboard and texting his guys directly, cost him exactly zero dollars extra and his clients stopped complaining. Sometimes these big fancy tools just don't account for how messy real life actually is.

$400 is a lot to drop on something that ends up making life harder instead of easier, man. I had a similar thing with a CRM that kept sending double notifications to my own team and it was a nightmare to untangle. Sometimes the simple stuff really does win out over the fancy features.
