My shop's appointment book was a total mess until I tried a $2.99 wall calendar

For months, my two groomers and I were double-booking dogs and missing calls because our digital system kept glitching. Out of pure frustration, I grabbed a big paper calendar from the office supply store and taped it to the wall. Now we all write appointments in pen, and our no-show rate in Denver dropped by half in three weeks. Has anyone else gone back to paper after a tech fail?

Pat's point about picking the right basic tool is key. I see this everywhere now, like people buying fancy smart fridges that break, when the old one just kept things cold. We keep adding layers of tech for problems that were already solved, and then act surprised when it makes things harder.

I get the paper calendar fix for a small shop, but calling it a "tech fail" feels off. My whole business runs on a simple phone calendar app that never glitches. Paper can get lost or scribbled out. For me, tech works when you pick the right basic tool and stick with it.

Honestly, is a calendar glitch really a big tech fail? Sounds like maybe the old system was just a bad fit. Going back to paper seems like fixing one messy problem with another.
