Serious question, has anyone else paid for a full year of a project management tool they didn't need?
Honestly, I signed up for a $600 annual plan for a fancy project tracker because a blog said it was the best. Tbh, my team of three just used the basic tasks and chat, so we wasted about $450 on features we never opened. What's a simpler tool you'd suggest for a small service business?

Yeah, that Google Sheet thing is so real. I mean, I see people get sold on these big systems when half the time a simple checklist and a place to talk is all you need. It's like you're buying a whole factory when you just need a hammer and a notepad. Makes you wonder how much money is just sitting in unused software accounts.

My buddy at his coffee shop paid for a whole year of Basecamp because he read some article. They ended up just using a shared Google Sheet and their group text.

I read somewhere that something like 40% of SaaS subscriptions are basically unused. I mean, that lines up with your buddy's story - it's just too easy to buy a tool because it sounds good, not because you actually need it. Maybe it's just me, but I think a lot of small businesses would save money if they just tried the free stuff first.
