Supply order screw up cost me 3 days of work last week
I was sitting in my home office in Nashville when FedEx dropped off the wrong sized filters for our HVAC units. Had to scramble to find a local supplier who could get me 48 units by Tuesday morning. Has anyone else had a vendor mix up an order and just shrug it off?

Vendors mess up all the time, but they usually don't just shrug it off if you push back. Sounds like you need to find a better supplier who takes accountability for their mistakes. A good vendor would overnight the correct filters and eat the cost.

Read a piece in a supply chain newsletter last week that said most vendor errors happen because they cut corners on quality checks, not because they're careless. Found it interesting because it lines up with my own experience - the suppliers who skimped on inspection always caused the biggest headaches. Swapping to a vendor with a solid QA process made a huge difference for us.
