The printer that ate my quarterly reports and then died

Last Wednesday our office copier decided to jam on a 200 page run of Q3 financials. I spent 45 minutes pulling out crumpled paper and ink cartridges before it finally gave up with a loud grinding noise. Turns out the maintenance contract expired two months ago and nobody told me. Had to drive 30 minutes to a FedEx office at 7 PM to get the reports printed for the next morning. Anyone else have a critical piece of office equipment fail at the worst possible time?

Man, people treat these things like life or death. You had to drive 30 minutes to a FedEx, big whoop - sounds like a mild inconvenience, not a crisis lol.

Did a buddy of yours have a 7-year-old Brother laser printer that just refused to quit until the day he needed to print tax documents for his whole family? Mine went through two full toner swaps and just started spitting out blank pages halfway through the batch. He ended up at a Staples at 9 PM watching the self-serve machine eat his last $20 bill. The maintenance plan he forgot to renew cost him way more in late fees than the plan would have.
