Brand new band saw blade snapped on me during a brisket trim
Picked up a new blade from the supply house Monday morning, 14 teeth per inch like always, and it snapped clean in half halfway through a prime packer. Took me 20 minutes to get the pieces out of the meat and another 30 to swap the old blade back in. Anyone else had blades from this batch fail like that or did I just get a lemon?

Wait, it snapped clean in half? On a brisket trim of all things? I've snapped blades before but that usually happens on bone or frozen stuff, not just pulling through meat. Was the blade maybe over-tensioned or had a spot weld fail? That sounds like a bad batch to me, did you check the weld seam before you put it on?

Right, but you're assuming the blade was fine to begin with. Maybe that brisket had a hidden bone fragment or a piece of gristle that caught it just right, and the blade had a micro-crack from a previous trim you forgot about. Check the weld seam before you put it on? Who's doing that every time they swap a blade for a brisket? That's overthinking it. I've seen blades snap from a bad angle on the meat, not just from a bad spot weld.
