Overheard a customer at the counter say 'I can tell it was cut right' about my pork chops

I had a guy last Saturday point at the bone-in chops I just finished and tell his wife 'see those clean cuts, that's from a real butcher.' He didn't even know I was standing there. It made me realize how much people notice the small details like straight edges and even thickness. What little thing do you look for when you're checking someone else's work?

Gotta disagree with you there, @shanel13. If the guy was genuinely nice, maybe the compliments were free and that's fine, tipping culture gets weird when it creeps into every casual interaction anyway.
