Spent 45 minutes trying to debone a pork shoulder the wrong way
I had a customer request a boneless shoulder for a big family gathering and I thought I'd just wing it like I do with chicken. Took me way too long digging around and making a mess before I realized I needed to follow the natural seams not just hack at it. Anyone else ever waste a full hour on a cut you thought you knew how to do?

Man, it's just pork shoulder not surgery. You probably still got the meat off the bone eventually, right?

Honestly, I was out there wrestling with that bone like it was a wild animal and I was some kind of amateur rodeo clown. Tbh, after 20 minutes of scraping and swearing, I did eventually get a decent pile of pulled pork, but my cutting board looked like a crime scene. Ngl, I think the bone actually won the fight because I ended up with more pork on my apron than in the bowl. But hey, at least the dog was happy licking the floor afterwards, right?
