Watch out for the new blade sharpening service at the swap meet

I stopped by the big swap meet off Route 9 last Sunday and saw a guy offering knife sharpening for 5 bucks a blade. He was using one of those belt grinders with no guard and he was burning the edge on every single knife, I could smell it from ten feet away. A customer handed him a nice 8 inch chef's knife and he took off way too much metal, the edge looked wavy when he was done. I didn't say anything because it wasn't my place, but I've seen that same setup ruin three knives in the past month. My advice, bring your own stone or find a shop that uses a proper jig system, has anyone else seen this guy around?

Honestly I used to think those swap meet guys were a steal but after watching one wreck my camping knife last month I totally get the warning now, that burnt edge smell is a dead giveaway every time.
