Appreciation post: my Kreg jig vs the dowel method on maple glue-ups
Doweled a butcher block counter last month and got 2 joints that squeaked apart within a week. Switched to pocket holes with the Kreg and clamped 6 panels in 40 minutes, zero movement even after 3 coats of finish. Anyone else ditched dowels for pocket screws on hard maple?
