Finally switched from my old Craftsman router to a Whiteside stable base and I'm kicking myself for waiting

For 3 years I fought with bit slip and tearout on every edge profile, but after swapping to that new base last week my last 20 cabinet doors came out perfect with zero adjustments, has anyone else noticed how much smoother a solid base makes things?

Dude are you serious? I fought with a Craftsman base for like two years on cabinet doors and custom shelves. That Whiteside base is a total game changer. The way it holds the bit in place without any wobble is night and day from what I had. I actually stripped out the set screws on my old one twice before I gave up and swapped. You wont believe how much cleaner your edges come out once the bit stops slipping mid cut. Its like all that tweaking and running test pieces just disappears.

I feel you on that bit slipping issue, I've ruined way too many boards because of it mid cut. If you havent already, put a drop of blue loctite on those set screws before you tighten them down, it stops them backing out when the router vibrates. That one thing saved me more test pieces than anything else.
