I finally had a perfect week in the shop after 8 years of frustration
Last Tuesday I put together a full set of shaker cabinets for a kitchen remodel in Maplewood without a single miscut. Every dado lined up, all the doors hung level on the first try, and the client paid the remaining $4,200 right on the spot. Anyone else ever get a week where everything just clicks and you don't have to fight your materials?

You know what's funny, my dad always said when things go too smooth you missed something. But I think he was just bitter because he spent his whole career fighting with old farmhouse trim that was warped worse than a country road. I remember this one time I was building a simple bookshelf and every single joint fit like it was made by magic. I kept walking around it waiting for something to fall off. That shaker set you did sounds like a dream though. I swear maple can be a real pain sometimes with how it moves on you if the humidity isn't just right. Nothing beats that feeling of getting paid without any hassle either.

You ever have a job like that? A buddy of mine built a whole kitchen set once and the guy paid him half up front no questions asked. Everything fit perfect first try and he said he spent the whole drive home checking his mirrors waiting for the cops to pull him over.
