Just realized I've been using my dado stack wrong for 3 years

Was watching a video from a guy named Mike over at Stumpy Nubs and he showed how the chipper blades actually have an order that matters. I always just tossed them in any way and wondered why my dados were rough on the edges. Has anyone else missed something basic like that for way too long?

Wait, the order actually matters? I've been tossing mine in randomly for years too and just figured dado stacks were naturally rough.

Has anyone actually tested whether putting the chippers in a different order makes a real difference, or is this just one of those things woodworkers love to argue about? I've tossed mine in any order for over a decade and my dados turn out fine enough for cabinet work.
