My trusty Kreg jig snapped on me mid-project Tuesday

I was drilling pocket holes for a set of kitchen cabinets I'm building for a client in Oakville. The jig had been working fine for years, but the hardened steel guide just cracked in half when I was putting in the seventh hole. Had to stop everything and run to Home Depot for a replacement. Cost me about 3 hours of work time. Has anyone else had a Kreg jig fail like that without warning?

Is a broken jig really that big of a deal? I've had tools crap out on me plenty of times and it's usually just a quick trip to the store to get a new one. Three hours sounds like a lot to lose just because a guide cracked. Maybe you could have switched to a different method for the rest of the holes instead of stopping completely? Either way, Kreg jigs are cheap and pretty basic, so it's not like you lost anything special.
