Old timer at the lumberyard was right about drawer slides

Guy in his 70s watched me buy a 30 pack of full extension soft close slides and said "save your money, stick with the basic side mounts." I thought he was stuck in the past. 3 months later half of those soft closes are already getting loose and saggy on the kitchen cabs I did. He came in last week and gave me a 2 minute lesson on how the old ones actually hold up better over time. Has anyone else noticed the cheaper slides lasting longer than the premium ones?
