Switched to a router sled for flattening slabs and it paid off fast
I was doing all my flattening with a hand plane for years on live edge walnut... took forever and wasted a lot of material. Finally built a router sled last month with some MDF from Home Depot and a cheap Porter Cable 690. First slab came out dead flat in about 20 minutes instead of 3 hours. Any of you guys use a CNC for this instead?

What changed your mind? I was skeptical but this sounds worth trying.

The timing clicked for me when I realized how many little things we do every day without thinking. We grab coffee without tasting it, scroll through feeds without seeing anything, drive home on autopilot. That was me too. This approach forces you to slow down and actually notice those moments, which changed how I see everything else too. Have you tried switching something small up in your routine just to shake things loose?
