Swore off biscuit joiners for years, but a complex corner proved me wrong.

In my garage last month, I finally used a marking gauge after years of guessing lines. This stubbornness to use simple tools is a common trap. @ivanpatel's speed square story is a perfect example. We think we can shortcut the process, but it always backfires. Now I see this pattern in daily life, from cooking to fixing my car. The humble tool you ignore often becomes the hero later.

Had a similar moment last year when I refused to use a speed square for roof rafters. Thought I could eyeball it, but ended up with a gap you could fit a pencil through. My pride took a bigger hit than my wallet fixing that mess. What simple tool have you stubbornly ignored only to save your butt later?

Totally get it, I fought using a level for hanging shelves forever. Wasted so much time fixing my sloppy work.
