Appreciation post: a day where everything just clicked on a big fiber run
Last Tuesday I had a job downtown that was supposed to be a nightmare - 12 floors of old conduit and no pull string. But we brought a vacuum rig and some mule tape, and the first pull went clean in under 20 minutes. Even the terminations on the splice tray lined up perfect the first try, which never happens. It's just nice when a rough week gives you one smooth day like that. Anyone else have a job that surprised you and went way easier than expected?

First pull went clean in under 20 minutes" - that's the kind of magic that keeps you coming back, right? I had a similar thing last month pulling fiber through a church basement from the 1800s. The conduit was all cast iron and rusted to hell, but somehow the mule tape just sailed through every bend like it was greased. Even the old pull boxes had the covers off already, which never happens. Felt like I was getting away with something.

You ever get that weird feeling the universe is just throwing you a bone after a week of crap pulls? Had that happen in an old hospital once, fish tape just zipped through like it knew the path already.
