Debate: Are RG6 compression connectors way better than crimp ones or no?
I picked up a job at a new build in Denver last month and the head installer swore by compression fittings. He said he hasn't had a single signal issue in 8 years since he switched. But my old boss back in Phoenix still uses crimp connectors on every job and claims they're just as good if you do it right. Who's actually seeing a real difference in the field? Has anyone here done side by side testing on signal loss?

Compression fittings win every time in wet Colorado weather.

Patriciam22 I have to push back on that one. In my experience compression fittings are fine for dry climates but here in Colorado the constant freeze-thaw cycles can make them leak after a few seasons. I switched to soldered copper joints years ago and haven't touched them since. Sure it takes more skill to solder but once its done you don't have to worry about it again. Compression fittings just feel like a temporary fix to me.
