Picked the cheap crimper over the name brand. Big mistake.

Had to choose between a $12 crimper and a $45 Klein at the hardware store in Tampa. Went cheap, and it mangled 8 connectors before I gave up. Has anyone else had a tool that just ruined your whole day?

Eight connectors is rough, that's like fifteen bucks down the drain right there plus the aggravation. What kind of crimps were you using, the little yellow ones or the blue ones? I've found the cheap crimpers sometimes have jaws that don't line up right, so they pinch the connector instead of crushing it evenly. Did the tool actually break or is it just that the crimps kept slipping out?

Hate it when money just vanishes on bad parts like that.
