That customer who knew more than me about coax run

Last week I was doing a install in a older house, and this retired guy who worked for the phone company years ago starts asking about my ground block placement. He pointed out I was about to bond to a water pipe that had a plastic insert, and sure enough he was right, saved me a call back. It got me thinking, how do you handle customers who clearly know the trade better than you do, do you take their advice or stick to your company's playbook?
