Tried the coax tracer on a live line to save a trip, got a hum in my ear and a callback
Had a job in Council Bluffs last Tuesday and figured I could tone out the drop without walking back to the van for the tester, so I clipped the tracer straight onto the line still hooked to the tap. Got a loud hum in my earpiece instead of the beep and then the customer's internet dropped for about 4 minutes, which meant a callback at 7pm. What do you all use to trace a line fast when you're already up on the ladder and don't want to climb down?
