Wasted $200 on a cheap cable toner from Amazon

Bought one of those $20 toners off Amazon. Worked fine for a month. Then died on me mid job in Austin. Had to borrow a Fluke from my buddy. That $200 Fluke paid for itself in one day. Don't cheap out on test equipment. Anyone have a brand of toner that actually lasts?

Bought a $15 tone generator that looked exactly like the expensive Fluke. Worked for about three weeks then started sounding like a dying smoke alarm. Had to tape the wires together just to finish the job. My buddy still makes fun of me for it.

Notice how that happens with so many things that look exactly like the name brand... they copy the outside but skip all the quality parts that actually make it work. It's like buying a knockoff tool pouch that looks great until the stitches start popping after a month. These days you almost have to expect the cheap version to fail, it's just a matter of when.
