Appreciation post for the guy who fixed my Canon F-1 shutter in 45 minutes flat
Took my old F-1 to a shop in Portland last Tuesday and the tech had the mirror box out and a new shutter curtain in before I even finished my coffee, has anyone else had a repair go way faster than expected and what did they work on?

Not trying to rain on the parade but was it really that urgent? I get being happy it's fixed but 45 minutes vs 2 hours doesn't really change much in the grand scheme.

Wait 45 minutes for a shutter curtain replacement on an F-1? That's absolutely insane. Those cameras are absolute tanks with like a million little parts inside, I cant believe someone could have the mirror box out and a new curtain in and adjusted that fast. Most shops I've dealt with take at least a week or two just to look at the thing, let alone actually fix it. That tech must have been either a wizard or just really, really hungry for that coffee break.
