Chat with an old repair guy made me rethink my whole approach

I was talking to a retired repairman who said 'you kids rely too much on the light meter, you forgot how to read the light.' It hit different because he was right, I spend more time troubleshooting electronics than actually looking at the light coming through the lens. Has anyone else found themselves leaning too hard on modern tools?

Kai, I just tell my guys to put the phone down and trust what their eyes and ears are telling them for ten minutes a day.
