Found a loose ground wire inside a Minolta SRT-101 from a camera show
I was at the Portland Camera Show last Saturday picking through a box of old bodies, and one Minolta felt dead with no meter response. After opening it up, I saw a ground wire had just popped off its solder point inside the mirror box. Has anyone else run into loose wires on these older SRT models, or was this just a fluke on this one camera?

Yeah man, resoldering that same wire worked fine for me years back.

Wait, you seriously got it working with just the same wire after that long? @spencer_moore39 I had a similar setup and ended up trashing the whole board because I thought it was toast. That's wild you just hit it with solder and it came back to life. I guess sometimes I overthink these things and forget the simple fixes. Did you have to clean off a ton of old solder or was it still in decent shape? I'm honestly impressed you had the patience to try that instead of just buying a new part.

Funny you mention that, reminds me of this old radio my uncle had in his garage for like 15 years. Thing was covered in dust and looked dead, but he just poked at the connections with a screwdriver and it fired right up. Never even touched the solder. Makes you wonder how many perfectly good boards get thrown out because people get too focused on the fancy problem solving. Sometimes the hackiest fix is the one that sticks around the longest.
