I mean, I dropped $80 on a 'professional' lens spanner wrench set and the tips bent on the first stiff filter ring.

My friend Mark bought a fancy $90 wrench set for his vintage camera kit. He was trying to get a filter off a 50mm lens he found at a flea market. The tip just twisted and sheared right off, left a nasty burr on the filter ring too. He ended up using two old butter knives from his kitchen drawer to get the thing loose. Sometimes the simple stuff just works better.
