I think we've lost something with all this circuit board swapping
Fixing mechanical shutters used to be about skill. Now it's just swapping parts, and I think that's a step back. For example, on an old SLR, you could tweak each spring yourself.

Used to think recycling was pointless too. Watched a documentary on how much plastic ends up in the ocean. Realized even a little effort beats adding to the pile.

My recycling bin is basically a fancy middleman for the landfill at this point. Put a greasy pizza box in there last week (oops) and now that whole bag is probably contaminated. Sometimes it feels like I'm just sorting my trash into two different piles that end up in the same place.
