Old sensor cleaner swap saved my Canon 5D Mark II

I spent 2 years swabbing sensors with the same kit, thought it was fine. Then my last cleaning left streaks that no amount of re-swabbing could fix. A guy at a shop in Austin told me to swap to a fresh swab every single pass, even if it looks clean. Tried it on a dusty 5D Mark II last week, worked way better than any liquid or method I had used before. Cost about $12 extra per session but it cut my cleaning time from 45 minutes to 15. Has anyone else hit a wall with older swabs or is it just me?
