Sealed camera bodies are making our repair skills useless.
We need to stand up for right-to-repair before this whole trade goes digital-only.

How do you even start with a glued lens mount? I mean, heat helps sometimes, but you can wreck the sensor if you're not careful. It's a stupid design that punishes anyone trying to fix things.

The Sony A7IV has glue holding the lens mount in place... it's a nightmare to fix. This trend towards sealed bodies is killing the repair trade. We need laws that force companies to provide parts and manuals. Otherwise, we're all just renting gear until it breaks. It's a waste of good tech and skilled people.

Absolutely. I see this everywhere now. My smart coffeemaker died because the internal seal is glued shut, and my old wireless speaker is just a brick since the battery can't be swapped. We keep buying the same things over and over because the fix is a hidden trap. It feels like planned waste, and it makes me miss when stuff could just be opened up with a screwdriver.
