Stranger handed me a 35mm with a shutter that sounds like a rusty hinge
This guy walked into the shop with an old film camera. The shutter made a grinding noise when he tried to use it. I opened it up and found a broken spring inside. Has anyone else dealt with weird noises from vintage shutters?

That grinding sound is just personality. People get too hung up on perfect mechanical silence. A shutter with some grit tells a story. It's like complaining a vintage car engine is too loud.
