Yeah, "if you're careful" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. I picked up a real cheap set once for an emergency job and honestly, the jaws started spreading on the first bolt I tried to loosen. Ended up rounding the nut off and making a bigger mess than I started with. If you're just doing light stuff around the house and you go slow, maybe it'll work for a while. But for anything with real torque or rust, you're probably going to regret it. I learned that lesson the hard way and just stick with mid-range stuff now.
