Finally decided on a new camp stove after a week of back and forth

I was stuck between a compact propane burner and a heavier two-burner white gas model for my solo trips. I went with the propane one and it boiled a liter of water in under four minutes on my first test in the backyard. For those who cook more than just water, is the propane canister waste a real issue or just something people talk about?

I once kept a tally on a two week camping trip. Final count was 37 cans and a deep sense of shame. The recycling bin at the gas station made a sound like thunder.

Wow, that sounds about right. I did the same thing on a long road trip last year. Honestly, just having a dedicated bag in the car from the start kept the mess under control.
