Finally dialed in my camp stove after 3 years of frustration
I bought this dual-burner propane stove back in 2019 for a trip to Yosemite and it always had one burner that ran way weaker than the other. Last weekend I was packing for a quick overnighter at Lake Arrowhead and decided to actually clean the jets with a little wire brush I got at a hardware store for 3 bucks. Turns out there was a tiny bit of gunk blocking the flow on that side the whole time. Now both burners boil water in the same time and I feel pretty silly for not doing this sooner. Anyone else put off basic maintenance gear for way too long?

Three years of frustration over a three-dollar fix. Classic.

Three years staring at the same problem and it's a loose screw or a cracked gasket (usually something you could fix with pocket change and a trip to the hardware store). I once spent an entire weekend chasing a weird engine knock in my old truck, pulling half the front end apart, only to find a loose heat shield that needed a single zip tie. You feel like a genius for about thirty seconds, then mostly just embarrassed about all the swearing and busted knuckles over something so dumb.

It's funny how we'll tear apart a whole car or house looking for a problem when the answer was just sitting there in plain sight the whole time. Makes you wonder how many other headaches are just one small fix away.
