Oh man, that is just the perfect kind of camping luck. Nothing like a brand new piece of gear deciding to quit on you when it's freezing out. At least it waited until you were already out there to start its little air diet. Hope you had a good patch kit, or a lot of leaves to pile up under you.

Yeah that "air diet" line got me, @felix155. Been there with gear failing at the worst time. Nothing like shivering on a flat air mattress to make you question all your life choices.

Oh man, the real trick nobody talks about is blowing up your air mattress a little too full on a cold night. When the temp drops that air contracts and you wake up on the ground anyway. Ever tried putting a closed foam pad under your air mattress for insulation?
