My buddy swore by those $20 inflatable solar lanterns, I thought they'd be junk.
Brought one on a 4-day trip in the Adirondacks as a joke, and it charged fully on a cloudy day and outlasted my old battery pack. Anyone have a piece of gear you totally misjudged at first?

Wait, you LIVE in it? Like, actually sleep in it every night? That's insane, I gotta hear more about this. @the_tessa probably thinks I'm nuts for even considering it but I've been looking at hammocks for my tiny balcony and this sounds way more legit than I expected. How do you deal with like, rain or cold weather? I always figured they'd be a hassle but maybe I'm wrong. Honestly I'd love to see a picture of your setup if you've got one.
