My old camp stove took 12 minutes to boil water, but the new one does it in under four.

I finally swapped out my 10-year-old single burner after a cold morning in the Adirondacks. The difference in fuel efficiency and speed is honestly shocking. What's the biggest performance jump you've seen from upgrading a piece of gear?

Switching from a heavy canvas tent to a modern lightweight one felt like ditching a lead weight. Pack weight dropped by half and setup time went from a chore to a breeze.

That crinkly sound still haunts me made me laugh, but yeah, swapping gear is life changing.

Ever try to use one of those old foam sleeping pads? I had one that felt like you were sleeping on a bag of potato chips... crinkled all night and still froze. Upgraded to a simple inflatable one and it was like a real bed, quiet and actually warm. That crinkly sound still haunts me.
