My wet weekend trip exposed a big flaw in gear reviews
Just came back from a camping trip in the rain and wow, my gear failed hard. Everything I brought had glowing reviews online, but none mentioned how it performs in wet conditions. My rain jacket leaked after an hour, and my supposedly waterproof boots got soaked. It feels like most reviewers only test gear in perfect weather, which isn't real life. We need more honest reports on how stuff holds up in rain, mud, and cold. Otherwise, we're all just guessing and wasting cash. Time for review sites to step up their game.

Fair-weather testing is basically USELESS for real outdoor gear.

That old Patagonia tag said to test gear in the worst weather you can find.

Tried testing my new waterproof pants in the backyard sprinkler. Felt pretty clever until a real storm rolled in on a camping trip. Ended up with wet socks and a bruised ego from slipping in the mud. My idea of "waterproof" was clearly too optimistic. Lesson learned the hard way, I guess.
